Achalgarh Fort is a historic hilltop fort located about 11 km from Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Originally built by the Paramaras and later rebuilt in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha, the fort served as a strategic military post and a sacred site.

Overview

Built/Rebuilt: Originally constructed by the Paramara dynasty — rebuilt and renamed Achalgarh by Maharana Kumbha of Mewar around 1452 CE as one of the 32 forts he commissioned.
Location: Approximately 11 km north of Mount Abu, at an elevation of about 1,300–1,400 meters in the Aravalli Range.
Condition: Today, much of the fort is in dilapidated condition, though its sizable granite gateways and ramparts remain striking.
