Selwada Dam, also known as Sukli Selwada Bandh, is a prominent water reservoir located near Reodar in Sirohi district, Rajasthan. The dam serves as a crucial water source for irrigation and local communities, especially during the monsoon season.
Location & Setting
Situated approximately 6–7 km from Reodar along NH-62, the dam is easily accessible by car. The surrounding area offers scenic views, making it a peaceful spot for a short visit.
Access: Direct road access; no trekking required.
Infrastructure & Significance
The dam is primarily used for irrigation purposes. During the monsoon, the dam’s water levels rise significantly, sometimes leading to overflow. In July 2023, a mock drill was conducted to prepare for potential emergencies due to rising water levels.
